Fred, the Official HWG Rock

What is Fred?

Fred is the name given to the official HTML Writers Guild rock. Fred is used whenever you have the feeling that you're saying something over and over again, and it's just not sinking in. For example, if someone posts a message asking how to unsubscribe, just hours after the List Guides have posted an informational message pointing to the website for unsubscribe information -- that would be an appropriate time to call for Fred.

How do I use Fred?

What do you do with Fred once you get him? You do not throw Fred at the source of your frustration nor otherwise attempt to harm the annoyance. Fred is not a weapon and cannot be used to harm others.

Instead, you use Fred by hitting him, repeatedly, against your skull until you lose all sensation. This is good therapy, for studies have shown that those people with mild concussions or light brain damage actually manage to cope better with the HTML Writers Guild than those without.
