The hwg-announce mailing list is a one-way mailing list for official HTML Writers Guild announcements. Types of announcements posted here include:

ANNOUNCE

General catch-all for Guild services

RFC

Requests for comments on issues currently under consideration by the Governing Board

MOTION

Public motions that the Governing Board will be voting on, and results of the votes

POSITION

Volunteer positions within the Guild

PERSONNEL

Changes of people and faces within the Guild

AGENDA

Agendas of various Guild meetings, some of which may be open to the membership

MINUTES

Public minutes of Guild meetings

PRESS

Official press releases issued by the Guild

NOTICE

Dated "notices" of general interest

Each message will be prefaced with the keyword tag listed above for that type of message (e.g., "MOTION: Creation of hwg-announce") as the Subject line. This list may be sorted on the 'Sender:' field, which will always be 'owner-hwg-announce@hwg.org'.

Questions about specific announcements can be directed to the person posting the message, to your favorite Governing Board member, or to the hwg-ops discussion list.

Subscription to this list is purely voluntary; very important news will be announced via the hwg-news mailing list, which all members of the Guild are subscribed to.

Any current member of The HTML Writers Guild that has an interest in the operation of the Guild is encouraged to subscribe to this list. To subscribe to the list, please send email to:

majordomo@hwg.org

In the body of the message, write:

subscribe hwg-announce youraddr@your.domain

No subject information is needed. Your email address is optional in the subscribe message.

Posting on the hwg-announce list will only be done by authorized Guild personnel. All posting are moderated and will only contain approved Guild announcements.

The proper way to unsubscribe from the list is to send an email message to:

majordomo@hwg.org

In the body of the message, type:

unsubscribe hwg-announce youraddr@your.domain

No subject information is needed. Your email address is optional within the unsubscribe message.
