SUMMARY
Executes administrative and clerical functions of a nonprofit organization by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Retrieve, collate, process, and file membership applications.
  • Issue, package, and mail membership certificates.
  • Issue, package, and mail certificates of completion.
  • Receive, track, and reply to member queries via email and postal mail.
  • Answer incoming telephone traffic and provide answers membership-related queries.
  • Assist in covering duties of the Accounting Clerk during periods of absence or vacation.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required skills:

  1. Candidate must be computer literate on the Windows 98/2000 platform, with experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Publisher)
  2. Extensive experience with Internet email
  3. Ability to navigate Web-based forms for daily work without assistance after initial instruction.

Desired skills:

  1. Familiarity with HTML 4.0
  2. Basic invoicing and payment recording in QuickBooks Pro 2000

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy statements and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively via email to both native and non-native English speakers. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
