Member-Submitted Tips: Online Resources (Marshall Jansen, HWG-News Editor, hwg-news-tips@hwg.org) The Guild's foundation is members helping members, sharing our expertise and knowledge to improve our skills in the craft of web design. Everyone has something to teach, and something to learn! In keeping with that spirit, the HWG-News Newsletter HWG-News features member-submitted "tips" in each issue, in the space between articles and announcements. What happens if your tip is selected? Each issue, the first-place winner will receive a free HWG t-shirt. Runner-up tips will be also listed in the HWG-News newsletter as space permits, and submissions will be posted on the HWG web site. The topic for this issue, as announced last issue, is: Online Resources Where do you go to find the tools of your trade? Fonts, clip-art, backgrounds, code snippets, tutorials? Most of us know about webmonkey.com, builder.com, and other 'big' sites, but what other sites are out there that you use regularly? We had a LOT of great entries this time around, but we finally decided on a winner: This issue's winner was sent in by Gloria Lassich, we trimmed it down to fit better in the newsletter, but all fo her commentary will show up on the tips site, as well. (Marshall Jansen, HWG-News Editor, editor@hwg.org) The Guild had a limited run of T-shirts at the Internet World in Spring of 1998, and they proved popular enough that we ordered a batch to sell and give away. While people loved the shirts, they only came in one color (white), and two sizes (XL, and XXL). Due to popular demand, we have widened our variety a bit. We now offer Guild-logo shirts in both black and white shirt colors, and offer sizes from Large to XXXL! These shirts are high quality, and feature the Guild logo and URL screen printed on the front. The shirts are $24, shipping included ($28 for foreign shipping), and you can get an order form here: http://www.hwg.org/opcenter/guildwear/order.txt We will be updating the Guildwear page with actual pictures of the shirts soon... that page is: http://www.hwg.org/opcenter/guildwear/ Show your support of the Guild by wearing the logo! 3.
