Jobs and Contracts/Requests for Proposals

After careful consideration and consultation with the Governing Board, the Executive Committee has reached a decision to close the Jobs and Contracts programs, including the Request for Proposals service.

This decision to make was based on the current needs of and direction of the Guild. The primary reasons for the closure include:

• Our tax status with the IRS obligates us to spend the vast majority of our time, money, and energy on projects directly related to our stated goal -- education. The JC programs fall under the types of activities expected of a "professional" organization, not an "eduational" one.
• The amount of programming support and volunteer time needed to support the programs.

The Governing Board expresses our gratitude and thanks to the volunteers who have worked on the RFP/JC projects over the last few years, including Matthew Wickline, Damon Zirkler, E.C. Gruhler III, Fred Ackers, Jim Campbell, Ryan Fischer, Nicolas Ian Imrie, Jame E. Lewis, Keith Smiley, Vasco Veloso, and Mary Lee Zerby.
