Learning Accessible Web Authoring

No one is born with the knowledge of how to write HTML -- let alone accessible HTML! Presented here are resources for directed and self-taught learning.

Online Tutorials

• Tom McCain's Accessibility Pages at Butler University
  A resource for web authors at Butler, this also is useful for anyone seeking a practical introduction to web accessibility.
• Webmonkey: design: Accessible HTML
  A brief introduction to accessible web authoring techinques, from HotWired.

Online Courses

• Designing for Universal Accessibility with HTML 4.0
  Offered through the HTML Writers Guild's online classes program, this six-week course is taught via a web-based discussion board by AWARE Center staff.

Offline Courses

• Achieving Website Accessibility In State Government
  A one-day conference in the state of Washington, to be presented (or already presented, depending on when you are reading this) by Cynthia Waddell on June 7, 1999.
