1. A Short Note from the Newsletter Editor
(Kynn Bartlett, HWG-News Editor, editor@hwg.org)
You may have noticed that this issue of HWG-News arrived earlier
than usual. Beginning of this month (February), the Guild's email
newsletter will be published twice a month, to keep you informed of
the latest news from the HTML Writers Guild. Our goal is to keep
the newsletters small, relevant and timely, rather than simply
sending one large newsletter each month. As the Guild's services
and membership benefits continue to grow, we want to be sure you
know what the HTML Writers Guild has to offer!
2. 1999 Online Membership Meeting Agenda for February 18

Your record in our database is the only connection we have to you,
so make sure that we don't lose touch! If your email address or
postal mail changes, remember to update your Guild information! In
fact, you may want to check it out now to confirm that your
information is current. To do this, edit your profile at:
http://db.hwg.org/cgi-bin/member/edit_profile
5. From the Treasurer: Easier Payments for Canadian Members
(Ann Navarro, Guild Treasurer, treasurer@hwg.org)
Announcing easier payments for our Canadian members!
Until recently, our policy has been that membership and other fees
can only be accepted in funds drawn on US financial institutions.
Canadian members may now remit membership, online education, and other
payments using checks or money orders drawn on Canadian banks. To do
so, checks must meet these criteria:
* The check or money order may be drawn on any Canadian bank
or the Canadian Postal Money order service.
* The check or money order must be payable in US dollars.
(Please note that this means an official US Dollar account or
draft -- simply writing US$ on a Canadian $ check is not
sufficient.)
We hope to be able to offer payment in actual Candadian currency
soon -- watch for future issues of HWG for updates on payment issues.
