This course teaches the basic principles of storing and editing digital video files using PC technology computer video editing with audio integration capability. Although there are many tools available for accomplishing such a task, this course will introduce the video editing basics using a editing resource that will help lay a solid foundation for your journey towards Web Videography Mastery, Adobe Premier Elements 10.
Although Adobe Premier Elements is the introductory video editing tool within the Adobe Suite Multimedia Production Suite, it is an extremely versatile and powerful video-editing and video/audio production tool In addition to the power and flexibility that Adobe Premier Element affords, this is a tool that works on the most OS platforms, with the most popular file formats and is part of one of the most powerful multimedia production suites in the world.
Students will learn all of the basics from becoming familiar with Adobe Premier Elements navigation, to basic video and audio editing, to creating a movies that can be saved to a CD, DVD or uploaded to website, or online sites such as YouTube.

  • Software: Adobe Premiere Elements 10, or previous version. Trial version for Adobe Premiere Elements 10 available at http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere-elements.html
  • Minimum Computer Requirements
    • 600 megahertz (MHz) processor, such as an Intel Pentium III, AMD Athlon, or equivalent processor
    • 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM
    • 2 Gigabytes (GB) of free hard disk space
  • Recommended Computer Requirements: in order to optimize your experience and the performance of Windows Movie Maker, we recommend the following:
    • 1.5 gigahertz (GHz) processor, such as an Intel Pentium 4, an AMD Athlon XP 1500+, or equivalent processor
    • 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM
    • 2 Gigabytes (GB) of free hard disk space
  • Optional for this Class (required for Real World Transfers)
    • An audio capture device (to capture audio from external sources)
