.NET Development with C# is a 6-week course that will introduce you to the fundamentals of using C# to develop ASP.NET applications for the web. The focus of this course will be to develop a simple web application. This course would be useful to a variety of IT job roles including: web designers, web programmers, intranet designers, intranet programmers, IT management, IT Project managers, and IT Project Analysts.

Prerequisites
You must complete the 'Introduction to C#' course or have equivalent knowledge or working exprerience with C#. This course must also have working knowledge of HTML and basic web site design. A basic understanding of C or C++ is very useful. Familiarity with any programming language, such as Visual Basic, VBScript, Java, or JavaScript is also useful.
Requirements
In order to take full advantage of this course, students will need to have access to:
  • Microsoft Visual Studio.NET (currently available for free evaluation download http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualcsharp/download/ ).
  • Best setup is Windows 2003 Server running IIS 6.0. However, any Windows operating system (or web host provider) with IIS and ASP.NET extensions installed should work.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Edition (MSDE) (available for free download) or access to a Microsoft SQL Server.
